Vegan Extravaganza Returns to Wolverhampton with More Attractions than Ever Before!!
One of the biggest vegan festivals in the UK returns to Wolverhampton on Saturday 29th October 2011 and looks set to knock the spots off last year's event!!
The Wolves Civic in Wolverhampton will showcase the very best in veganism. With a wide range of exciting attractions including a feast of food, stalls, talks, cookery demos, competitions and live entertainment throughout the day, the West Midlands Vegan Festival will be the largest such event ever staged north of London and is expected to attract people from across the country...and beyond!
Adrian Ramsay, the vegan deputy leader of the Green Party, will open the festival at 11am.
The festival has been organised by Midlands Vegan Campaigns(MVC), a small group of volunteers. [1]
Kevin White, MVC founder & event coordinator said, "The festival will offer all you need for healthy, cruelty-free, eco-friendly living. Festival-goers don't have to be veggie or vegan to attend, all are welcome! Last year, half of our 1,500 visitors were non-vegans! We encourage everyone to come and discover why people are increasingly adopting a vegan lifestyle".
There'll be over 80 stalls offering a huge range of goodies, including cosmetics, chocolate, clothing, healthfood, books, gifts and lots of free recipes, nutritional factsheets, health magazines etc. Also a feast of food served up by the best vegan caterers from across the UK, 5 mouth-watering cookery demos, 14 interesting & inspiring talks, kids activities, an all vegan bar, an action packed line up of live entertainment from start to finish AND an After Party till midnight!!
There will be free food samples galore, special offers on many stalls and a free goodie bag for the first 200 visitors through the door!
There'll also be a push-up contest; a speed meeting session; the Vegan Society Awards 2011 will be announced/presented on stage; and a Best Vegan Cupcake Competition!!
This is the fourth year the event has been staged in Wolverhampton and it gets bigger every year. In 2010 the Wolves Civic was packed out from start to finish with 1,500 visitors through the day!
Kevin White continued, "Whether you want to try a new pair of non-leather shoes before you buy them, gorge yourself on the fantastic animal-friendly feast, learn how to be a healthy vegan, buy cruelty-free gifts for Xmas or chill out with friends enjoying the finest organic, vegan beer whilst listening to some great performers - you can do it all at the West Midlands Vegan Festival."
The festival is taking place at the Civic Hall between 11am and 5pm. Admission is just £1, under 16's get in for free. The admission price entitles visitors to attend all the talks, cookery demos and entertainment.
