A small group of people camp at Victoria Square at Birmingham. Two assemblies have been celebrated since Saturday 15th October. A general assembly is announced to be hold at Victoria Square on Wednesday 19th October around 6pm. Many people are donating hot drinks, a duvet, tents... People are starting to interchange ideas. Specially, influence of Spanish 15th May movement and Occupy Wall Street related protest are present.

The camp has created the following text describing themselves:

"Occupy Birmingham

We are here because we stand in solidarity with the many 1000's of people who are occupying their towns & cities all across the world. We are here because we no longer accept a corrupt system that rewards greed and causes suffering. We are here because the system is failing our children and destroying everyone's future. We are here because we do not want to bail out banks or watch the mega corporations by up our services. We do not want perpetual debt. We know that the richest 1% do not care that many will freeze and go without food this winter. We have had enough... have you?

WE ARE THE 99%

JOIN US"
