the swastika on the 'peace' flag?

...was brought along by a believer in Raelism; the basic idea is that life of earth was created by extraterrestrials, called Elohim. It's probably just some mystical symbol. :-)

As the only official statement issued by the Newcastle Occupation so far states: "The revolution began yesterday...what are you waiting for?"

The same statement refers to "entrenched small fry party disputes about the right way forward.", which is the unfortunate way that they have chosen to refer to people who support them but who prefer a different tactical approach.

Sigh.

Interesting that the swastika appears in the middle of a star of david on a peace flag? Very, very strange and obscure times indeed.

I'm sorry, but to me that "peace" flag with the swastika in the star of david looks absolutely anti-semitic to me.

Why are people happy to put their banners next to it and get photgraphed with it?
It makes the anti-cuts protest look racist to most people and/or, (if it is a ridiculous ufo cult who according to wikipedia claim to be cloning humans) weird and stupid. Not a way to attract support.
I couldn't join in the first 2 days because of my personal circumstances but was going to join in yesterday but seeing that photo put me right off coming down.

If i had been there on saturday i would have had some serious words with whatever idiot brought that flag down and moved myself and my banner to another side of monument so i wasn't associated with it.
