Harwood not on trial for another 8 months

PC Simon Harwood, the man whose from-behind baton strike resulted in the death of Ian Tomlinson, was in court today to enter his plea on the charge on manslaughter. He pleaded not guilty. His trial will begin on 13th June 2012, 3 years and 2 months after Tomlinson's death. In the meantime he remains suspended on full pay.
