Demo marchers not interested his Tory cuts claptrap heckling Labour MP Tony Lloy
Well it may have mesmerized those few hundred around the stage setting but elsewhere, the 35,000 who had taken part had already dispersed to go shopping, chill or generally do their own thing, anything but listen to the clap trap from the platform
So with a cacophony of condemnations regarding Tory cut policies beating like a trance rhythm floating on the wind to the back of the rally Labour MP Tony Lloyd was introduced as a really sound grounded guy and not one of those support the cuts unfortunately he had little else to say ‘cept to heap blame on the Tories ! Still every time he bleated about the Tories cutting this or that, some protesters with a megaphone opened up with “what about Labour” and the heckling continued through his entire speech…
Sadly it seems not everyone thought him a sound well grounded guy
A bright spot along the march happened when a group of protesters spotted a bunch of Tory nobs gawking at the passing demo, an irate breakaway contingent converged on the Tories threatening to engulf them requiring them to beat a hasty retreat to the safety of Bridgewater Hall where upon an increasingly angry group lay siege to the bolted Hall door entrance Some idiot ‘I am your leader with the megaphone’ tried to disperse the group with the futile refrain “These are not Tories, they are catering workers, please rejoin the parade ” to no avail A detachment of cops were dispatched and maneuvered themselves into position’ to prevent any actual assault on Bridgewater Hall
I think the blue ties were a dead giveaway and they were further condemned by the one wearing the blue bootlace ribbon attached to his ID card which is inscribed with the legend www.windsor.co.uk.
Windsor Partners Limited is a Lloyd's broking group providing insurance and reinsurance broking services to businesses and private individuals in the United Kingdom and overseas.
All told the cops on the march and in general were rather friendly, it was even commentated on by the BBC’s Lucy Ewing ‘at the scene’ but then I guess, not surprisingly the Bill have an eye to their own pension differentials. However there was the not so friendly and rather chilling police presence on the roof of the Barbirolli which our not so eagle eyed ‘Dear’ Lucy failed to notice
