Firstly, saying that no-one has died from nuclear power in the UK last year is like saying no-one has died from smoking, or that no nuclear weapons test veterans died from being exposed to radiation. Just because it is hard to prove that cancers, birth defects and other health problems are caused by radiation exposure, that doesn't mean that radiation from nuclear power stations and other nuclear facilities isn't killing workers and others or causing significant morbidity.

As to whether or not we need nuclear power in the mix to combat climate change and provide energy security, I suggest you look at Germany's turnaround report plus the following:

As a anti nuclear weapons campaigner Ive been upto stay at Faslane twice,helped raynesway derby campaigns, all weapons should be safely disposed of & a small amount maintained only if it can be shown they would be of use for meteorite defence& phased out.

Iam not sure about thorium,I think we could do without it but put thi up as its important to know if your campaigning in this area
