Notice how right from the start of the "consultation" squatting is framed as being a "problem". Nice and impartial.

Sheffield Hallam University / Crisis report on squatting comes to different conclusions than those implied by the Daily Mail story with hack Steve Doughty not letting the facts getting in the way of a good scare:

Daily Mail headline: most squatters are lifestyle squatters
Crisis report:squatters are more likely than other homeless people to suffer from a range of disadvantages, from mental and physical ill health to learning disabilities to drug and alcohol dependency.

and quoting Tory MP Mike Weathersly "..The MP for Hove and Portslade said on Monday: "The idea that squatters are homeless people is incorrect."..
Well Mr Weathersly, squatters ARE homeless people by definition.
