From CHINA- Severe rains have caused destruction and chaos in much of Asia- a report on a Province in China, and the extreme floods in Pakistan, which had not yet recovered from the record breaking rains of last year. China supports the Palestinian demand for full statehood at the UN. Libya's new flag is now flying at the UN, though Gaddafi says that his leadership remains intact.
From JAPAN- The head of the Al-Jazeera TV network has resigned without comment, following cable releases from Wikileaks which show his ties with the US government and an agreement to censor some news from Iraq. To achieve a cold shut down at the Fukushima nuclear reactor, experts say that the interior temperatures need to be checked. A government survey has found that radioactive iodine and cesium released from Fukushima were carried much farther than previously stated. German industrial giant Siemens is completely withdrawing from the nuclear industry.
From GERMANY- The EU has expressed deep regret over the execution of Troy Davis in Georgia, and reiterated its call for a moratorium on capital punishment. After its success in overthrowing the government of Libya, the French government wants 18 year olds to pledge to take up arms in defense of the country- there is significant opposition among the citizens.

I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at  http://radio.mediageek.net

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
NEW TIME SLOT on KZYX! This program will be aired on Sunday afternoon at 4pm (PDST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via
There are several other streams that work better- Freak Radio Santa Cruz now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am.(PDST)
NEWLY CORRECTED!!! The Shortwave Report may be downloaded as a podcast from (27 MB) HIGHEST QUALITY
(16MB) Broadcast Quality
(6MB) Slow Modem streaming
