 Now Read On:

The mainstream media is marking the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Those who opposed and oppose the use of the attack on the World Trade Centre to justify attacks on countries throughout the Muslim world are also marking the tenth anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan and the start of the 'war on terror'.

Coaches from Bristol will be travelling to join the Antiwar Mass Assembly on Saturday 8 October that has been called by Stop the War Coalition, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and British Muslim Initiative. Armed forces veterans, school students, musicians, trade unionists, writers, artists, academics, politicians, campaigners, and military families, will occupy Trafalgar Square on Saturday 8 October to show their opposition to war, representing the vast majority of people in Britain who have opposed Britain's involvement in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. There will be music, film shows, performance events, art installations, and much more. Among the organisations supporting the Antiwar Mass Assembly are Britain's largest trade union Unite, the PCS public services union, War on Want, and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

Stop The War calls for the full and immediate withdrawal of all British troops from Afghanistan; an end to NATO bombing in Libya and an end to all interference there; and no extension of the war through attacks on Iran, military intervention in Syria or elsewhere
