Spidery Spirals of Paranoia

Le G. | 16.09.2011 18:46 | Analysis

What is the real sense in all this business, how can we avoid becoming senselessly intellectual?

It is often that those who will present something genuinely interesting or controversial relating to the situation in this, and the wider community will be labelled as follows;

“Paranoid”

This is ironic in that generally this means;

“I am paranoid as to what people would think of me if I held this belief”

“I am paranoid of falling into a 'loop of paranoia' such as that which too much analysis of any situation may bring”

Obviously neither of these things are logical. Social opinion is one thing, the Truth quite another. The theories of the mentally unbalanced are one thing – and yet, consider... Those 'intellectuals' who come up with the dominant theories, I am saying even up to the level of Chomsky and these kind of people, are they not in themselves mentally unbalanced in being overloaded with theories and in such a position (in the university) that they cannot speak of anything else lest they be labeled;

“Paranoid”

“Conspiracy theorists”

etc etc.

These are slurs, epithets ascribed to people by those who wish to attack anything which is new, fresh, vital, from the heart rather than the head, tuned in with reality, beautiful, simple. In short, they are meaningless unless it is clear and logical that a conspiracy theory does not make sense. For example, consider. There are two theories of evolution, and a third. The dominant theory is the Darwinian theory; species compete amongst themselves for survival, evolving through violence. Krotopkin's theory of Mutual Aid, suppressed by capitalists for obvious reasons is; species help those of their fellow species, many of them, evolution often takes place through evolving dynamics of group intelligence. A third theory is the Eastern theory. This suggests that humanity (in particular) has evolved through particular cycles at the end of which the world is destroyed or the race enters another dimension, leaving no or very little trace. Call this 'paranoid', 'whacked out', or 'hippy' because the newspaper says so, but this is an equally plausible theory. Forgetting scientific prejudice in favour of scientific fact, there are evidences for this third theory, unexplained findings of 10,000 year old watches undersea being one of the most interesting of them. But whether or not you wish to accept this theory is irrelevant, this is a matter of your own personal journey – what is of relevance is that this theory can be shown by various evidences, quite plausible in their own way, to be logical. It is not 'paranoid' or a 'conspiracy theory'.

Neither are many other theories which are considered so by the modern population, by the giant tyranny of;

SOCIAL OPINION

Where does social opinion come from? Newspapers, TV, 'pop culture' books etc. This goes as much for the writers of the pop culture books as their readers – it is a circle.

This 'labyrinth of lies', which is just natural to humanity, nothing to judge or detest or hate but just the simple truth that we don't live in the moment, we live detached from nature amongst a lot of noise, a lot of gossip, a lot of confusion generally... The center of ourselves, a point from which to find a truth, is hard to find. Most people even in the community of activists don't even spend any time in silence every day, and every sensitive person feels some guilt about this. Anyway – to return to the point I was just making – this confusion can be symbolized as a Tower of Babel and the wickedness (capitalism) at the bottom of it can be symbolized as a spider's web.

This spider's web is an interesting metaphor. I am noticing it is very possible that a lot of the activism in England, at least that which is done publicly and advertised, could be organized by the police. Consider that logically speaking, this could be a very good way for them to trap those who are potentially genuinely subversive in a cycle of fear and confusion, unable to achieve anything. Now I could be wrong, I'm sure some of it is ok.

But until you get up off your arse, put down the spliff and go and do some investigation for yourself, there's no way your going to know is there. I do actually have some interesting evidence for this – but the best way for us to root out infiltrators, the spider in the center of the spider's web - is if WE ALL DO IT, TOGETHER, AS A COMMUNITY. Whoever they are, they aren't going to be making it too obvious. We need to develop the intuition and psychological subtlety to really suss people out.

Anyone who has read a Dostoyevsky novel is therefore invited to email  legavroche@autonomymedia.co.uk because I'm sure we could achieve something or another together.
