A TEENAGE boy has been told by magistrates to expect a substantial custodial sentence after pleading guilty to a range of offences during a night of disorder.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was part of a group who stole from and vandalised shops in Bletchley on Tuesday, August 9.

At a hearing at Milton Keynes Youth Court last Tuesday, the youth, from Bletchley, admitted one count of theft, one count of burglary, one count of criminal damage to a Papa Johns Pizza outlet and one count of violent disorder. He is due to be sentenced on September 13.

Det Sgt Stuart Bosley said: “This boy was one of a group of yobs who descended on Bletchley with the sole intention of causing maximum disorder and distress to normal law-abiding people. This shows that anyone behaving in this manner in Milton Keynes can expect to be arrested and subsequently feel the full force of the law.

“However, we are still eager to get as much intelligence about the crimes committed that evening and I would urge anyone with information, images or video footage to email us directly on  MiltonKeynesDisorder@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk.”

A further six people have been charged with a variety of offences in connection with the disorder.

Five are due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court on September 8 and a further man, Mahad Abdi, is set to be sentenced at a later date.
