URGENT call out against Evictions

Social Justice Collective | 27.08.2011 17:16 | Dale Farm | Free Spaces | Repression | Social Struggles

Southwark Council has written to 35 tenants where they or a member of their household have been charged over the disorder earlier this month. This is another opportunity for us to fight back against these draconian measures.

EVICT THE RICH! NOT THE POOR!
Let's send a clear message that we will not accept this spiteful attitude.
Southwark - not in our name - not with our money.

use a proxy server and open an email account you'll only use for facebook. Then open facebook account using the email address and never post on either accounts. Then you can look at facebook pages-sometimes even those useful ones that are not taken down by the police grass scum.

Disgusting ... this is a fight they'll regret picking. It's bricks and mortar class war, throwing out every hard-earned right and protection in the book. Never mind presumption of innocence, never mind the duty to provide housing. This is a witch-hunt, the precedent is that anyone with a connection to anyone who even might have been involved in the unrest can be nationally disallowed from state provisions. Given the demographic of most of those involved in the unrest, and the bleeding obvious fact (however viciously denied by the corporate media) that the vast majority of people currently claiming welfare are in need of that welfare, this is enforced homelessness. This will spread hatred of the state and its minions far and wide.

> Disgusting ... this is a fight they'll regret picking.
I doubt that

> It's bricks and mortar class war, throwing out every hard-earned right and protection in the book.
Its nothing new. The looting was on a large scale, therefore the punishment is on a large scale. People were warned what the consequences would be (I can clearly remember Camaron warning people), but they did it anyway. So tough titty said the kitty

> Never mind presumption of innocence, never mind the duty to provide housing.
They don't have to house everyone and have the right to pick and choose tenents.

> This is a witch-hunt, the precedent is that anyone with a connection to anyone who even might have been involved in the unrest can be nationally disallowed from state provisions.

Looters failed to do an adequate risk/reward assessment before committing the crime.
If they didn't get caught, they'd be patting themselves on the back for their "shrewdness" in getting a new telly. However, they got caught and now blame everyone else for their actions.
Crime has consequence, and that includes possible homelessness. Think about how it used to be a case of execution or having your hands lopped off.

Give over. It won't. The public need/want/welcome decisive justice
