From 3 Sep: Camp at RAF Waddington, Lincs, to protest UK Drones

Peace activist Helen John is setting up a camp at RAF Waddington

BACKGROUND
Until now, UK's armed Reaper drones have been operated from Creech US Airforce base in Nevada, one of the main control centres for US drone warfare and in the middle of nowhere by anybody's standards, not that this has stopped determined anti-war activists from protesting there. http://www.nevadadesertexperience.org/issues/uavs.htm
Now, however, there are moves to bring the drone wars home and operate the UK's (Grim) Reaper remote-controlled killing machines from RAF Waddington, conveniently situated in a Lincoln suburb: http://dronewarsuk.wordpress.com/2011/05/13/british-drones-over-afghanistan-to-be-piloted-from-uk/
Drones are increasingly being used illegally in Afghanistan, Pakistan and elsewhere to carry out extra-judicial killings in contravention of international law. Many civilians are being killed 'accidentally' along the way and, as drone warfare expands, this situation can only get worse. In Wales, the area between Epynt Mountain in Powys and Aberporth on the Cardigan coast has already been cleared for drone test flights.
