More tax breaks for the rich

tory hugger | 11.08.2011 14:18 | Anti-racism | Repression | Social Struggles

Another pleasant reminder today that we're all in this together. Father Christmas has surely come early for the super-rich, as shops hit by rioting, including those owned by the corporations that already 'manage' their tax bill down to virtually nothing and who are more than capable of taking this one on the chin, will receive substantial tax breaks.

Meanwhile courts are staying open-all-hours to hand out drive thru sentences. A man who bought a piece of stolen clothing has had his sentence referred to the crown court because the magistrate decided the 6 months she could give him was not enough for such hardened criminality. A string of people have been arrested and it seems face jail too for posting messages to the internet and believing that meaningless rhetoric that this is a country of free speech.

Remember kids, don't oppose the government. Don't even speak out. And when you're breadline, the politicians are rubbing it in your face and the handout is there, for god's sake don't take it

...that most of the damage was done to Big Business, and that small, family-run businesses were not affected in the slightest?

I don't believe the original poster suggested or even touched on that issue.

Are you seriously putting words in peoples' mouths?

...that the politicians give a toss about the small businesses affected by the riots apart from as ideological props?
