Anarchist Guidebook to Post-Civilization

Subsect Press | 09.08.2011 18:40 | Culture | Education | Energy Crisis

A guidebook to post-civilized culture, including what it might entail and how we will survive. The book will contain a large amount of practical knowledge for survival including how we can build sustainable housing and grow food in a regenerative way.

Subsect Press is a group of independent anarchists writing, researching and compiling information for the release of a book to enable the transition from our unsustainable civilization to a post-civilized, egalitarian society.

We are currently raising funds via Kickstarter to focus an audience and utilize the publicity of the platform. Sales for the book will continue outside of the time frame of this project (50 days). We do not pay ourselves wages and any profits from the book will be used to support actions that move toward ideas the book explores.

Post-Civilization is a theory that, in its basic form, is formed around the realization that civilization is unsustainable and cannot be salvaged, that a return to a primitive state would not be desirable, and that it would be sensible to explore and establish a post-civilized culture.

The book will investigate non-hierarchical, anti-authoritarian thought and detail practical actions for implementing a post-civilized and anarchist society. These details will include actions relevant to the transition from the current capitalist system to the foundations for a sustainable and free society. While it would be impossible to provide a complete and comprehensive guide to potential anarchist lifestyles (because of the rich diversity anarchism encourages), we hope the book will provide a substantial knowledge base for the implementation of any potentiality.

The funds received from the sales of the book will be used to cover printing costs, distribution costs, and to support the implementation of a space based on the ideas the book explores.
