Stand off with riot cops in ilford. Also reports of rioting in beckton, walworth, croydon tension. Peckham, more riot cops. Free stuff in tesco. Slight calming.

I have been watching live footage of that burning building in Peckham and it is clearly between two sets of residential flats, which were also starting to catch fire before the fire brigade arrived. Burning people's homes (Elizabeth Windsor apart) is not my idea of an acceptable political response to anything.

from what i can see, it is mostly blacks and asians youths doing the looting and rioting in both birmingham and london. fact.
