A report on Sunday's Leeds ABC benefit in support of the recently imprisoned UK antifascists.

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Leeds ABC Rebel Night last Sunday to support our recently imprisoned antifascists.

The night kicked off with a storming acapela set from Sam, singing Irish and English folk songs and also performing some poetry.

The entertainment continued with Bradford’s own Matt Def who wowed us all with a versatile set concluding with some rousing Irish rebel songs.

After drawing the raffle (prize, a selection of fine vegan ales, and an Antifa beer mug and T-shirt) Javaad Alipoor went on to bring the house down with an eclectic mix of international rebel songs, sung in a variety of languages and with a huge heart, everything from traditional ballads such as Bella Ciao to Javaad’s own West Yorkshire version of Come Out You Black & Tans!

As well as great music there was great vegan cake and cookies and the Leeds ABC stall did a roaring trade, selling over £100’s worth of books, pamphlets, and T-shirts with pride of place going to the benefit T-shirts produced by Sabcat Anarchist workers co-op in support of the recently imprisoned comrades.

Cards were signed for the six UK antifascists currently in jail and the proceeds of the night, £160, will be shared between them.

Many thanks to the performers, to Sabcat, and to everyone who came along to make the night a successful benefit in support of our imprisoned antifascists.

If you were not able to attend Sunday’s event, you can still support the imprisoned comrades by writing to them at the addresses given below, by sending them postage stamps and stationery, or cash in the form of postal orders (made payable to ‘The Governor’). Sorry A Team, but are you linked to any group or organisation? I'm sure you're trying to do right by your friends, but the blog you have linked to is pretty empty and completely anonymous.
