This day...a day in infamy.

Torghatten's Mountain. | 23.07.2011 16:45 | Culture | Terror War | World

Why Norway? The answer is simple. Because it gives quarter to those who leapt into an inner coma of satisfaction and delight upon seeing the destruction of 9/11 writ large across the world. It gives quarter to those who cannot see the terrible injustice of war without end and war without conscience. It gives harbour to those who's hatred of Islam is matched only by the indifference of those around them who will not succumb to such malevolance. It will not go to war, against those who live to give to war. For the people of Norway, the scale and horror of this tragedy, is directly proportional to the scale of the failure of the villainous and morally dishevelled Anders Behring Breivik to fit into an environment hostile to his very existence.

The malevolent media at work.
The malevolent media at work.

Terrorism, the scourge of the West, brought slaughter yesterday to the freindly and civilised streets of one of Europe's most peaceful nations.

And in the gloom, the spectre of those who sit upon its back, driving this beast toward us all, once again raises its talons and casts its malevolent eyes toward its victims. Once again, this ghost to decency arches its back and prepares to smother us to death under a cloud of ignorance and venom.

The Sun and its readers grieve today not for the victims of this terror, but for those they lionise by ommission...the terrorist, the fanatic, the nationalist, the villain, the dealer, the misfit, the manipulator, the stunted and the malformed. Today marks a turning point, today is the day we stand tall, and say with one voice, enough is enough.

How well we remember, from London's 7/7, itself a travesty of brand over faith, the shock and misery when an ordinary summer's day turned into a nightmare of smoke, flames and bodies in the street. How well we remember, the travesty of the calls for war, war and more war by those who would never fight, by those who in the midst of battle, perpetually fall to one crushing and speedy thought above all, flee. How well we remember those voices that would demand that our children be sent to die to serve not the nations defence, but to serve the bloody and villainous blood lust of our most cowardly adults. How well we remember.

Just as on 9/11 in New York and in Madrid in 2004, horror came when least expected, but upon its arrival, surprise turned to disgust as those very same cowards flung our liberties to the wall and handily fashioned defeat from victory without pausing to understand the futility of both.

Why Norway? The answer is simple. Because it gives quarter to those who leapt into an inner coma of satisfaction and delight upon seeing the destruction of 9/11 writ large across the world. It gives quarter to those who cannot see the terrible injustice of war without end and war without conscience. It gives harbour to those who's hatred of Islam is matched only by the indifference of those around them who will not succumb to such malevolence. It will not go to war, against those who live to fight a war. For the people of Norway, the scale and horror of this tragedy, is directly proportional to the scale of the failure of the villainous and morally dishevelled Anders Behring Breivik to fit into an environment hostile to his very existence.

By daring to oppose terrorism...Norway has become a victim of it.

We do not know if the appalling tragedy yesterday is the work of Government's, arms dealers or nefarious geo-strategic politika's or even Satan himself...but we know it is not the work of Al Qaida. We know it not to be the work of that entity claimed by so many here in the UK as reason to kill, maim and slaughter in the name of decency, fair play and the civilised world. We know that those voices do not serve such principles. For those principles derive their strength from the truth, and it is the truth that they war against.

The lessons for us are clear.

Osama Bin laden may be dead, but the tentacles of Al Qaida are alive in the poisonous dungeons of the minds of men who are linked to it. They spread deep into the heart of western nations.

That is why our security cannot be relaxed.

The Government must keep its promise to change the law so our judges can no longer be subject to the toxic influence of the terrorists who toil daily to spread their filth.

We need the decent Muslim majority to help stop their impressionable young men from being recruited to serve the interests of this cartel of orgainsed stupidity and populism.

We must ask ourselves if, like Norway, we offer too cushy a life to this misanthropic breed of animals.

And we must recognise the bogus folly that is the mission in Afghanistan. For that is a mission to appease the deluded sense of honour that bedevils this wooden breed.

Today, our sympathies lie with Norway, our loyal friend and trading partner across the north sea for centuries.

We share their pain, we salute their courage, we stand tall beside them and we offer our solidarity in this time of pain and sorrow in an era of hatred and feeble-minded intolerance.

Today we make a bargain. Today we say to those who have driven these wars and terrorised us all, your time has come. Today, the real heart of this war against the people is discovered. Today is a day the so-called voice of our conscience is dismissed for the charlatan it is and has always been.

We say to the disseminators of this vile doctrine at the Sun and their loyalist cadres...you make many enemies today.

Today, you go too far.

Speaking in metaphors

23.07.2011 17:02

Ok, I've read this twice now and just can't get the just of it.

The writing is awful. It is all metaphors, and cloud-based ideas - it is worse than "Management Speak".

I have no real idea what this is going on about. Suggest you write it in plain English using bullet points with concise statements. Basically, cut out all the poetry and you will be much clearer

not idea wjhat it means

Poetic but Self Contradictory

Your article seems to simultaneously blame al-Qaeda and not al-Qaeda; those who would take away our freedom in the name of security and those who prefer freedom to security. Basically, your article seems completely confused.

What happened in Norway was a terrorist attack by a right-wing Christian bigot intent upon punishing the left for what he was as their disregard for his culture. He is a fascist. He may have also been an agent of a foreign power intent upon punishing Norway for its willingness to recognize a Palestinian state.

We should all grieve for the victims in Norway, but we should also pressure the Norwegian authorities to expose all connections between this fascist pig and others with motivation to harm Norway.

Any evidence or source for this?

Or is it just pure conjecture?

Violence to life breeds violence

Norway-a nation of huntscum and weapons factories. Suprised there's not more of these atrocities.
Oh wait-there is-every day-but the victims are not human so not reported.

EDL Parasites.

23.07.2011 18:35

Looks like the edl are parasiting this article.

I've read it and it makes perfect sense. The Sun have jumped full stretch into this story and put it up as another example of evil muslim terrorism without bothering to wait for the facts. Just goes to show that the Sun is an evil and racist vehicle that trades in hatred and far right extremism. Must mean that it is an organ of the right wing.

I think the article is excellent and beautifully written. Really sums the situation up very well.

What we need is this crapola peace of shit shutting down once and for all.

Sign me up as an enemy.

Well done.

far right extremism.

23.07.2011 18:37

As always, its the far rights prejorative to come along and start blaming the victims for their deaths.

Time to prsocribe the right wing as the terrorist reality.

Round-em-up.

I'm sure many more will!

Oh fuck off. Humans have been eating meat for thousands of years.
Animals have eaten meat for millions of years
What makes you soooooo special?

Jog on and fuck off

> I've read it and it makes perfect sense.
Give over. It doesn't make sense. It is a rambling incoherent mumble.

> The Sun have jumped full stretch into this story and put it up as another example of evil muslim terrorism without bothering to wait for the facts. Now that makes sense - it is very clearly written and has no double-talk bollox. Good one.
In defence of the Sun, it is usually the muslims that do this kind of thing (Think Mumbai x2, London, New York, Bali, etc). But yes, it was poor journalism. If you don't like it - don't buy it?
It is not an organ of the right wing. It is a paper that tries to sell as many copies as possible to keep the shareholders happy, therefore it tries to appeal to what people want to read about.

> I think the article is excellent and beautifully written. Really sums the situation up very well.
It isn't. It is flowery nonsense what is very difficult to understand exactly what the author is trying to say. Clearly it is having a go at the Sun, but the rest is written by a drunk person.

> What we need is this crapola peace of shit shutting down once and for all.
Errr.... what about the right to freedom of expression? If you shut this down by force, then you would have to shut the guardian down and indymedia also otherwise you are a hypocrite.

> Sign me up as an enemy.
Terrorist?

> As always, its the far rights prejorative to come along and start blaming the victims for their deaths.
Wrong. That is a lie. The paper does NOT blame the victims. You are a liar.

> Time to prsocribe the right wing as the terrorist reality.
What - the whole of the right wing? So that is over 50% of the population then are terrorists?
You cock - fuck off. You're the terrorist by the sounds

> Round-em-up.
Go on then - you first.

Were you around, thousands of years ago, when these humans-who cannot run so fast or have the right teeth to tear through skin? No - so shut the fuck up. And presumably humans have been raping their own kids forever-does it make it right?

No i wasnt.
Are you implying that we ran after animals and ate them with our barehands?!! lol!!!!
No wonder you are a veggy because that wouldn't work very well would it!

>...when these humans-who cannot run so fast ...
You don't have to be able to run fast to hunt. You can hunt standing still or set a trap. I'm surprised you can't work this out, there is plenty of information on the internet.

> ...or have the right teeth to tear through skin?...
Our survival as a species in the dog-eat-dog world of nature is probably due to our evolution to be able to use tools. Humans used flint tools and fire to cut and cook meat. This is really simple stuff - didn't you learn it at school?

> And presumably humans have been raping their own kids forever-does it make it right?
No that is wrong. But eating meat is perfectly fine.
The majority of people eat meat today, therefore it is morally acceptable.
Maybe in 1000years it will be different as we evolve, but we are in 2011 not 3011

I'm sure there was a few cavemen who sat around and said that we shouldn't eat meat.

Anyway, I eat the Paleo diet - so its no good talking to me, because it goes on a hunter-gather mentality

"And we must recognise the bogus folly that is the mission in Afghanistan. For that is a mission to appease the deluded sense of honour that bedevils this wooden breed."

Beautifully written. The other commentator is right, pure poetry.

"Ie. people-you-don't-agree-with-so-you-have-to-label-them-rather-than-just-argue-the-points
Jog on and fuck off"

So what just happened in Norway is some menatlly ill far right monstrosity to the human race also decided that he didn't like the sound of other people's views...and he slaughtered 90 people to prove his inadaquecy to the world. We at Indymedia don't need to agree with the edl parasitic classes because we know them to be just as deviant at heart. The far right is a far bigger nuisance to the peace than Islamic terrorism. Far greater threat.

"In defence of the Sun, it is usually the muslims that do this kind of thing (Think Mumbai x2, London, New York, Bali, etc). But yes, it was poor journalism. If you don't like it - don't buy it?
It is not an organ of the right wing. It is a paper that tries to sell as many copies as possible to keep the shareholders happy, therefore it tries to appeal to what people want to read about."

No no, this is far more serious than simple poor journalism. And of course, I will not simply turn my back on such a greivous lapse of judgement by matching that poor judgement in deed by buying or not buying the poison. The Sun knew that the perpetrator was Norwegian when the story was prepped for print. They knew that the assailant was white, and blonde. They say as much in the edition that carries that awful headline above. And yet they continue to claim that the attack must be Arabic nonetheless. In other words, the Sun take the view that no matter what the tragedy, no matter who the assailant, no matter what the cause, no matter where it takes place...Britain stands against the Arabs and Al Qaeda!!!

The Sun is not interested in informing us of the truth...the Sun has this truth already pre-rehearsed and available to be used at a moments notice, as and when the situation presents itself. What we have seen today, is an out-of-date Sun caught in the act.

"It isn't. It is flowery nonsense what is very difficult to understand exactly what the author is trying to say. Clearly it is having a go at the Sun, but the rest is written by a drunk person."

I have re-read this article a dozen times and it becomes more beautiful on each reading. The author has hit the nail on the head with the harmonic chime a Harp-playing angel in heaven would be proud of.

"Errr.... what about the right to freedom of expression? If you shut this down by force, then you would have to shut the guardian down and indymedia also otherwise you are a hypocrite."

The Sun is on its own. Freedom of speech can survive without it.

"The paper does NOT blame the victims."

No, its too busy exploiting them to fabricate yet another false fit of belligerent Nationalism against the muslims.

"What - the whole of the right wing? So that is over 50% of the population then are terrorists?"

The vast majority of the UK population are disgusted with the views and ideology of the far right. They find the politics and views of the far right obnoxious, repellent and vile. The vast majority of the people of this country believe correctly that those who are endlessly trying to keep this war alive, are degenerate imbeciles with their heads in a different age of victorian ideals in which the muslim is a backward savage to be civilised at the end of a barrel of a gun. The vast majority of the people of the UK reject this creed and as we have seen...now know it to be every bit as capable of staggering violence as the very worst nationalist in the very worst hell-hole on earth.

The Sun is nationalist toilet paper. It claims freedom of expression in the pursuit of its poisonous and putrid views and it acts as an engine to motivate the villainous and sinister creed of racists we have in this country now. It is not interested in peace, it is only interested in propaganda. Its staff are eager to send our young to war, but would be the first to dissolve into cowardice, flinging themselves to the ground in abject knee-trembling surrender if challenged by the terrorist they are so convinced infest the world outside their corrupt bubble of cretinous elitism. They peddle garbage for penny coins and call it news. They know nothing of the world beyond their own blinkered vision of TV soap opera and celebrity pornography. They are a travesty of a once great industry now driven to its knees by those too corrupt to survive in the real world the rest of us inhabit. They are irresponsible, slack, incompetent and wouldn't know the truth if it were printed on the editors forehead in Sans-Serif.

Today certainly marks a new low in British journalism. And it also marks a new way-point in our understanding of the inherent violence that sits at the heart of the far right and its delusional claim to be the vanguard of this nations defence.

He was a far-right winger!

Anders Brehing Breivik, the man accused of the murder of at least 91 Norwegians in a twin bomb and gun massacre, boasted online about his discussions with the far right English Defence League and other anti-Islamic European organisations!!!!

What have you got to say to that "Liberian right wing"????

With contacts in the EDL!!!!
