Another death in Immigration Detention. At the moment there are no hard facts, not even the cause of death of Muhammed Shuket and the Home Office after the 63 word statement below have *shut up shop, until after the inquest.

Muhammed from Pakistan was the 14th person to die in a immigration removal centre.

A concerned NGO said this morning, We also want to trace Muhammed Shuket's cell-mate - Abdul Khan from Afghanistan - as we are concerned for his welfare and health.  Abdul Khan was either put in isolation or transferred out of Colnbrook on 2nd July.  Colnbrook switchboard claim Abdul Khan is not in Colnbrook (now).

If anyone reading this message has any hard data, please get back to 'Freemovement'.

Home Office confirm death of detainee but do not disclose any other information than in statement below.

A UK Border Agency spokesperson said: "A 47-year-old male being held at Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centre died on his way to hospital on 2nd July. His family have been informed and our sympathies are with them at this time. The matter has been referred to the police and to the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman in line with normal procedure and there will be an inquest in due course."

*shut up shop, common parlance for you will hear no more of this!
