UK Antifascist Prisoners

Leeds ABC | 08.07.2011 09:51 | Anti-racism | Repression | Sheffield | World

ANTIFASCIST AND PROUD! PLEASE SUPPORT OUR ANTIFASCIST PRISONERS.

Six antifascist comrades have recently been fitted-up and
imprisoned. They are guilty of nothing more than being antifascists, and they deserve our fullest possible support.

Please show solidarity with the following comrades. The prisoners may
receive letters, postal orders (made payable to ‘The Governor’), stamps, and stationery. As always when writing to prisoners, assume that all correspondence is read by our enemies – do not compromise your own security or that of others. For further advice on writing to prisoners see the Leeds ABC website.

09.07.2011 10:42

how comes noone mentions what they did. is it true that over 30 antifa mobbed through south east london, were too scared to attack the actual nazi gig that was taking place and instead attacked two straggling teenage fash? that's what they were sent down for? for getting drunk and roaming the streets and not being intelligent enough to avoid cameras, police, cctv etc, cos they were too pissed to do anything effective.

so you mangaed to kick in a couple of kids? great antifascist activity! and now you waste time in prison...

The above comment is a pathetic, trolling lie that has almost certainly been made by a police officer.

A statement about the case has not been released yet because legal proceedings are ongoing. It is extremely unfortunate that Leeds ABC and indymedia trolls have taken it upon themselves to discuss and disseminate their version of the details of this case, especially when this is against the explicit wishes of the people whom this case involves.

Please can indymedia moderators get their act together on this issue and take down this article.

FAO A Supporter

The London Evening Standard are responsible for breaching press restrictions. The very brief statement above was run past Antifa activists, the London support group, some defandants, prisoners relatives, and even some of the prisoners. Unfortunately our job in supporting our friends and comrades has been made considerably harder by one or two people who through spreading untrue rumours have undermined support for those inside. Either work with the experienced activists supporting our imprisoned antifascists or kindly butt out because you are making a difficult job harder.

Let's all grow up

09.07.2011 19:42

I've now come across this plea for solidarity on three different websites. The facts of the case (or at least the establishment version of it) were in the London Standard. So what on earth is the point in being cryptic. If you know what the hell is going on with these guys who, on the face of it, appear to be comrades who have had very harsh treatment from the state, then tell the rest of us.

The secrecy and dark hints only creates suspicion and taints the good name of those who have been convicted. Explain what you sensibly can and explain what you can't - and why. That way everyone is on the same page.

Antifa Angel

Please refrain from discussing the details of the case on this thread.

09.07.2011 20:35

There are still people on trial for matters related to the incident, and until those trials are over, speculation about what happened and why should be avoided.

Clearly we should be looking to support those already convicted, and those who are still on trial. Making emotionally charged claims about the events leading up the trial is not helpful.

If you are unhappy with the way that the thread is being moderated, please contact the admins on  contact@lists.indymedia.org.uk to discuss your concerns.

Thanks

Very good post AA. That's what many of us are thinking. A shame some people allow themselves to be led around by one or two idiots. Lets have a proper and honest statement about this. And will people please stop trying to hide this thread (see mod archive).
