I can read the banner and I was home educated by my parents who taught me to read:)

Yeah, that banner made me cringe too.

Given access to books and encouragement, kids generally learn to read all by themselves. I was part of a home educating network for years and years and saw plenty of evidence of this.

The main purposes of school are (1) childcare so that parents can go out to work and (2) preparing the next generation for adult lives of wage slavery. Schools as community resource centres for learning for all ages wouldn't be so bad, though...

All them on strike appear to have some sort of job that makes society, middle class, revoluntionaries when it suites them,the teachers should of gone to school and read a book to the kids, how about the anarchists cook book springs to mind, teachers are wankers who comply to the state. dossers
