Animal Rights Zone (ARZone) Reaches 2000 Members!

International grassroots abolitionist animal rights social network now has more than 2000 active members.
Animal Rights Zone (ARZone), the voluntary abolitionist animal rights social network, formed in December 2009, has also just topped 2000 active members who take part in weekly guest interviews and workshops, write forum and blog entries about the pressing issues of the day in the animal advocacy movement.
Carolyn Bailey, who founded ARZone, says, “ARZone goes from strength to strength. With the addition of even more ARZone sites, such as one dedicated to publishing our guest transcripts [1] and our newest venture, ARZone podcasting,[2] it’s full steam ahead with a 2000 plus membership.”
Providing an interactive space for its grassroots participants and supporters, ARZone fosters a sense of community among all its members. Through live online events, ARZone supports rational discourse and intelligent dialogue within a social movement context.
Recent online guests from within the animal advocacy community have included Kari Bagnall of Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary; moral philosopher Professor Oscar Horta; author of the award winning book: The World Peace Diet, Dr. Will Tuttle; Mary Martin, author of the popular blog “Animal Person;” Alex Pacheco, co-founder of PeTA and animal advocate of 30-years standing; transhumanist David Pearce; animal rights lawyer Steven M. Wise; plant-based nutritionist Malgorzata Desmond; grassroots activist Alex Melonas, and Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, founder of Compassionate Cooks. ARZone also recently published a new Q&A interview with prominent lecturer on veganism and animal rights, Gary Yourofsky.
Carolyn Bailey added: “I’m very pleased with the reception ARZone’s recent “Tom Regan Week” received. Tom Regan’s philosophical work was instrumental in establishing a rights-based approach to human relations with other animals, and we are so pleased that we have introduced another generation of animal advocates to his important body of work which began in the 1970s, saw the publication of the breakthrough text, The Case for Animal Rights in 1983, and which continues today in lectures and at conferences.”
