We will be standing in solidarity with all striking workers on the day, and in particular public sector workers who know only too well what the result of this government’s savage welfare policies will be.

Join us at Euston Tower, where speeches will begin at 9am. At 10am we will be paying a short visit to notorious poverty pimps Atos Origin, the IT company responsible for carrying out the disastrous Work Capability Assessments which have driven sick and disabled claimants to suicide.

Many of us then will make our way to the Trade Union march and Striker’s Assembly, both being held in central London. For full details of all events, pickets and actions taking place in London on the day please visit:  http://www.j30strike.org/location/london/

*the PCS picket line will begin at 7am so please come earlier if you can.

There is also a protest being held in Manchester against the Workfare Convention – more details at:  http://benefitclaimantsfightback.wordpress.com/2011/06/25/j30-wage-rage-protest-the-welfare-to-work-convention/

another bank holiday?

26.06.2011 18:35

J30 sounds like just another bank holiday to me, even if it roles over onto friday and makes a long week end, it'll be back to work on monday, as normal.
After all, these are people, mostly dependent on the ruling class, asking the ruling class to do something for them. It's not the people the ruling class depend on. It's the people the vulnerable depend on, and the ruling class aren't bothered about them!
Remember the fuel strikes of 2000. A very small number of haulage workers forced the government into submission in a few days, because they were the ones who drove the petrol tankers, that power the tax economy that the rich depend on. If you've got these kind of workers on side, you've won, if not you've lost.

I WILL NOT SUPPORT BENEFIT STAFF WHATSOEVER. THEY ARE PART OF THIS ROTTEN SYSTEM, NORMALLY INCOMETENT AND RUDE.
PENSIONS PLAY THE STOCK MARKET USUALLY INVESTING IN COMPANIES INVOLED IN EARTH AND COMMUNITY TRASHING.

ITS TIME THE SO CALLED LEFT WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ROSES. OTHERWISE THIS PLANET WILL BE NO MORE. . . . .
