There is a debate about whether euthanasia is acceptable when dealing with rescued animals.

Says Animal Defence Society Director Jake Knight

"In my opinion euthanasia is acceptable when dealing with rescued animals that cannot be found a secure, loving and forever placement. Where the animal has suffered severe mental or physical suffering then, again in my opinion euthanasia is the kindest (and sometimes only) option."
