Save Garsington Buses Campaign

Revised timetable plans are set to leave Watlington, Chalgrove, Stadhampton and Garsington, and their combined population of over 7,800 people with no public transport to and from Oxford after 7pm, and only an hour later to and from nearby Garsington.
Saturday busses are to be worst hit, and will cease leaving Oxford after 6pm. A subsidy to provide evening buses on Fridays and Saturdays would have cost the council less than £9,000 but this was rejected. The plans do not only mean that residents who cannot drive will be unable to enjoy, or find employment in Oxford’s evening life – the bus routes themselves are being changed throughout the day, causing havoc to people’s work and home lives.
