Unemployment has fallen by 88,000 but official figures showed the fall came after thousands of young people were classed as 'economically inactive' rather than unemployed.

UNEMPLOYMENT FALLS

The UK’s jobless total was 2.43million after tumbling by 88,000 in the three months to April, the sharpest drop since the summer of 2000.

In a further sign that the economy was picking up under the Coalition, just over 100,000 jobs were created over the same period.

TUC general secretary Brendan Barber said: “The significant fall in youth unemployment is encouraging.”

Unemployment fall boosts recovery

UNEMPLOYMENT has fallen by the biggest amount in more than a DECADE in a huge boost to the country's economic recovery.

Shock numbers today showed the number of people out of work fell by 88,000 between February and April.

The Position is we are seeing not just politicians but the unions in on a con over unemployment figures being represented as a fall and a recovery when the plain fact is, reclassification is not a sign of either.
