Animal campaigners are angry and disgusted with the Thai Government for allowing a restaurant on Paradise Beach in Thailand to keep a monkey and mistreat him.
ANIMAL CAMPAIGNERS launched a campaign against the keeping and treatment of Charlie the Monkey.
Supporters of the Animal Defence Society have signed the internet petition and now promise to express their 'disgust' at the keeping and treatment of Charlie the Monkey at a protest outside the Royal Thailand Embassy in London.
They claim that Charlie is being abused and mistreatment. They also claim that Charlie has no access to shelter, is chained up by the neck that is connected to a pole stuck in the ground and that tourists are encouraged to throw bottles at him. All this is happening at a local bar in Paradise Beach, Phuket, Thailand.
Animal Defence Society Director Jake Knight said: "We are demanding that Charlie is handed over to a more responsible place where he is going to be safe. It's not a lot to ask for when the monkey is being abused but there is minimal laws to protect him. Visit our website on www.animaldefencesociety.org to learn how to take action for Charlie."
