More Public Subsidy for Peel Holdings

anon | 05.06.2011 13:00 | Liverpool

At a time of public spending cuts and job losses in the Public Sector Liverpool Post Office have found millions to pay unnecessary rents on Peel Holdings Property.

Following the unnecessary and ideologically driven closure of the Liverpool sorting office the Post Office have found it in their wisdom necessary to rent property in the North and South Docks to provide a parcel pick up service to the public. These locations are unsuitable as they have little or no access via public transport, no disabled access and mean the Post Office is putting public money into Peel Holdings racked up rent system.
All of this happened without any public consultation and with no consideration for cost and accessibility.
Another example of Peel Holdings sitting back on their land bank, investing nothing and getting richer via public subsidy- see 22million public investment for the bizarre and unnecessary 'canal' across the Pier Head.

Does anyone have any idea how much Liverpool Museums will pay in ground rent for that crap new 'museum' at the pier head? Another example!
