Dudley EDL members sent to prison

Members of the EDL have been sent to prison for the part they played in the violent demonstration that was organised by the English Defence League in Dudley on the 17th July last year.

Thomas Blackwell aged 25, from Bird Street Lower Gornal pleaded guilty to affray and was sentenced to one year in prison. A video shown in Wolvehampton Crown court shows Blackwell came to Dudley with the intention to riot after he is seen at the center of much of the violence in a stab vest. The video also showed him launching a flying kick at the police.

James Everard 19 from Amblecote, and Jake Hill 18, from Brierley Hill were both sent to a young offender’s institution for nine and six months after also pleading guilty to affray.

Scott Bailey aged 23, from Central Drive, Gornal is accused of throwing a fence at police and Anthony Grant aged 20, from Georges Road, Netherton is accused of throwing “stones and large objects”

During the demonstration the EDL smashed up a Hindu Temple, threw barriers and a drain pipe at the police, smashed the windows of shops and cars and attacked local Muslims. The demonstration was held in opposition to a “super Mosque” which wasn’t actually going to be built at this point anyway and also in opposition the supposed the "Islamification to the town".

None of the local residents wanted the EDL to march in Dudley and the decision was taken to close all the local shops and the zoo for the day, after a similar EDL march in Dudley months before where they made their intentions clear by chanting "If you build your f*cking mosque we'll burn it down"

Oh really? Sorry to piss on your parade but the local resisdents DID want the EDL to come to Dudley! The locals were clapping and cheering the EDL coaches all the way through the streets....FACT! Maybe you muppets should actually attend a demo and see the reaction we DO get from locals.....Toodle loo mugs. See you in Tower Hamlets in August. NFSE!
