Arms Factory Attacked

Pixie | 27.05.2011 16:05 | Smash EDO | Anti-militarism | Iraq | Palestine | South Coast

A group of pixies attacked Brighton arms factory EDO MBM in the early hours of Friday 27th May.

EDO MBM make bomb release mechanisms that have been used in Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza, Libya and beyond. Late Thursday night/Friday morning an unwanted delivery was made to their Brighton based factory.

Paint bombs were flung and projectiles fired at the building on Home Farm Rd, before the naughty pixies disappeared into the night. While less deadly than the munitions EDO help drop on civilians around the world, this is yet another reminder that this factory is not welcome here.

While damage to EDO has previously been proved to be lawful (see EDO decommissioning) Sussex Police will stop at nothing to protect murders and prosecute protesters. All actions against arms companies, both accountable and unaccountable, should be supported and encouraged.

Nice work indeed...

I understand as a result of this action production ceased the next day causing a knock on effect at BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Thales and the rest of the global arms industry. Shortly after lunch all world conflict ended with soldiers throwing down their weapons and sitting down to enjoy Vegan meals and began planning the overthrow of Capitalism.

Meanwhile back in the real world some poor minimum wage worker spent a couple of hours cleaning off your paint while standing in the rain. The otherwise effect on EDO being zero.

I'd rather someone did something that was 0.00000000000001% effective than fuck all. Please, if you have a great idea to end the arms trade and the millions of deaths that go with it, share it with us. I'm waiting with bated breath.

More effective:

Lobby 1,000,000+ people to support the cause and join a protest outside the factory.
I realise it is harder work than throwing a few paint balls, but thats my point.

Its like training for a marathon. Its hard work and requires consistent effort in the face of fear of failure. What these people have done is the equivilent of running 25 yards, and going "oh fuck it - that'll do. I can't be asked doing anything else."

Why don't I do it? Because i don't agree with the protest or the first place.

> infinitely less effective than doing something worthwhile
0.000000000000001% rounded to closest value of any worthwhile notice = nothing

Actually, you are probably right. This has reduced the total bombs dropped by zero bombs. Therefore effectiveness can actually be measured as 0%, not my original figure.

About as effective as breathing at them

Probably would of been better use of time to do something worthwhile

Should of used that time to do something that was effective

Probably has increased security making it that bit more difficult for other people to do something worthwhile

One less bomb dropped = one more terrorist alive to carry on killing people
Therefore this action is actually going to kill more people if it actually worked.
