From CHINA- As a new chief of the IMF is being sought, developing nations do not want the replacement to come from Europe. The Libyan government says that the Western governments and media are manufacturing delusions about the situation there. The President of South Africa and Turkey will attempt to create an exit strategy for Gaddafi.
From JAPAN- The IAEA reports that a Syrian facility bombed by Israel in 2007 was likely a nuclear reactor. The US government has been testing nuclear weapons without conducting underground tests. It is now reported that nuclear meltdowns occurred in two Fukushima reactors more than two months ago. Prime Minister Kan says that Japan will dramatically increase its use of solar power.
From GERMANY- Due to public demand, the Swiss government has decided to phase out all nuclear reactors. In Spain, the Socialist party suffered a big loss in regional and municipal elections, following huge protests against economic measures.
From CUBA- Venezuela claims that the US is attempting to destabilize OPEC by placing sanctions against Iranian suppliers. There was a major explosion at Iran's largest oil refinery just before President Ahmedinejad was to make an address from the area. Ecuadoran President Correa says the the recent referendum was a victory and will benefit all the people. President Obama was met with protests outside the gates of Buckingham Palace during his UK visit. According to many, President Obama has violated the War Powers Act for continuing military action on Libya without Congressional approval.

I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at  http://radio.mediageek.net

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 6:30pm (PDST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via
There are several other streams that work better- Freak Radio Santa Cruz now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am.(PDST)
NEWLY CORRECTED!!! The Shortwave Report may be downloaded as a podcast from (27 MB) HIGHEST QUALITY
(16MB) Broadcast Quality
(5MB) Slow Modem streaming

--"The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate."--Noam Chomsky
