Public Meeting with Nick Clegg: The Big Climate Connection

27th May 2011 at 6.00 pm for 6:30 prompt start

The location is a secret and ID is needed to get in, can we call this a Police State yet?

Also he has been invited to a meeting in Worksop at 7pm according to this post:

The group have asked John Mann to organise Bassetlaw’s own Listening Exercise and the Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, and a representative from Future Forum, the group appointed by the Government to Listen to the People, will be invited to speak at a Public Meeting to be held at Worksop Town Hall, on Friday 27th May, at 7.00 pm.

Of course he could be in Sheffield at 6:30pm and Worksop at 7pm but he wouldn't get a chance to say much in Sheffield before he had to leave!

Sheffield Climate Meeting info follows:

A number of like-minded local groups, including Hallam constituents, Stop Climate Chaos and Sheffield Friends of the Earth have joined together to call for a public meeting on climate change. This follows on from the first round of nationwide Big Climate Connection events in November. The aim is to persuade decision makers to make a step-change in the level of action to deal with the climate crisis. A panel of speakers on the subject of the Energy Bill will comprise:-

Nick Clegg, Sheffield Hallam MP and Deputy Prime Minister.

Craig Bennett, Policy and Campaigns Director, Friends of the Earth

Martin Kirk, Head of UK Campaigns, Oxfam

The meeting will be at a central Sheffield venue on 27th May. It is open to all Sheffield residents.

Tickets will be free and only one per person, available via  http://www.eventbrite.com/event/1667879673. If you wish to ask the panel a question, please submit it to Beatrice Greenfield  bgreenfield@btinternet.com although time may limit the number of questions that can be raised on the night.

Please make sure that you bring the ticket with you and some form of ID e.g. passport or valid driving license; you will not be allowed in if you do not bring these. You will be informed of the venue via email nearer the date so please check for information updates.
