An animal rights campaign on Facebook.com, a social networking website, said it would not tolerate pages which encourages an illegal act of cruelty.

The Campaign Against Blood Sports, a Facebook group of animal rights activists and its supporters which has reached 363 likes in a short space, has today issued a statement saying that it will not tolerate pages which encourages an act of cruelty.

Jake Knight on behalf of the Campaign Against Blood Sports (a Facebook campaign by Animal Campaigns) said: "We will not tolerate this. It's disgusting, it's illegal and it will be dealt with."

Combat Pitbull & Staff Americain, a Facebook page, was setup by the creator to encourage fighting amongst the most popular fighting dog breeds Pitbull and Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

"This page was created by sick violent thugs. I took great pleasure in reporting these sick thugs and their page to the police. Any dog fighting activity should be reported to your local police."

"We will not tolerate websites or pages or groups on sites like Facebook which encourage illegal acts of cruelty." says Jake Knight.

An outcome will be posted on what happens to Combat Pitbull & Staff Americain Facebook page.
