Sheffield 63rd anniversay of the Nakba events

This Saturday, 14th May: 12 - 1.30 p.m. Commemmoration of Nakba Day. Outside Sheffield Town Hall. Please join us as we remember the victims of the 1948 Nakba and the victims of the ongoing Nakba for the last 63 years. Commemorations are being held all over the world - it has never been more important to remember the Nakba, in Israel today legislation has been passed that makes it illegal for people to organise events that use the word Nakba.
Tuesday: 17th May at 5 p.m. Ilan Pappe, reknowned Israeli historian and political activist will be discussing ' The Nakba revisited: past, present and future course of the Israeli - Palestinian conflict'
Students Union auditorium, Sheffield university Students union building (Western Bank - to the left of the dual carriageway as you
travel towards Broomhill out of Sheffield city centre, about 5 minutes walk from the large university roundabout). Free - non students welcome.
If you have never had the chance to hear Ilan Pappe speak before this is a not to be missed event - Ilan Pappe is one of the most illuminating and sharpest analysts of the Nakba and he is also a humanitarian, with a deep commitment to justice for the Palestinian people.

On 23rd May (7.30 p.m.. at St. Matthews rooms, Carver St) we will be having an evening workshop and discussions to review our boycott work over the last year, and to plan the way forward for 2011/ 2012. Please come along to contribute to our planning and hear more about the rapidly growing international movement. All welcome who want to get involved in any way, from letter writing to direct action.
