Met University Occupied Again

On 4th May the Metropolitan University buidling in Holloway Rd was spontaneously taken over by 60 students whose courses are soon to be axed completely. Many students will have to transfer to other institutions to complete their degrees. The Management plans to delete 70% of all courses being offered at the University. The Met has been occupied before in December 2010.

statement by the occupier:

"If you hadn’t realised, the shiny silver, Graduate Centre, the public face of London Met, on the Holloway Road is being occupied.

At 4pm today, the buidling was spontaneously taken over by 60 students whose courses are soon to be axed completely. Many students will have to transfer to other institutions to complete their degrees.

The Management plans to delete 70% of all courses being offered at the University.These include History, Philosophy, Trade Union Studies, Caribbean Studies, Performing Arts and most of HALE (Humanities, Arts Languages and Education).
