For the attention of Paris' Major

First of all our greetings and thanks for what we, the Tunisians arrived in Paris from Lampedusa,  got from you as a support and welcome, and furthermore what we got from batons and insults of the police.

Mr Paris' Major, we the Tunisians arrived from Lampedusa, who you describe as illegal immigrants, but mister we inform you we would have never left our country and thrown ourself into the sea if there wasn't in Tunisia this terrible situation, and this is an incontrovertible evidence of our mobilization to solve our human and social particular situation, with the support of european and arab countries as well as of the whole world.

But we were really disappointed, the way France welcomed us doesn't make evidence that this is the country of rights and freedom, and the main evidence is cops' behaviour when they came to 51 Avenue Simon Bolivar and the arrest of 150 people among who some french comrades who rescued us from being cold and hungry, conversely what your press release stated against these french people.

But we don't need their ideas to make our decisions and the main evidence of this is our blessed revolution.

Finally, we ask you to understand our situation and accept our esteem and respect.

Greetings,

Tunisians from Lampedusa in Paris

Here is the letter of the Tunisian from Lampedusa in Paris  who, on the night between 30 april and 1st May occupied a building in the center of Paris, from where they were evicted two days ago. 130 people have been arrested (including some parisian activists).
Now they have written a letter  to the Mayor of Paris in response to his press release of the 4 May in which the mayor explains the pretextuous reasons of the eviction as well as the arrests. They have been denied to talk to lawyers, many of them have lost their papers, many of them don't have anything with them. The situation is very confused because french government is not taking a coherent position towards the migrants as some have been expulsed from France and others are squatting a place in Paris together with the "anarchist and radical collectives who have  prefered to denigrate the action and the engagement of the Town rather than to really help tunisian migrants"  (as written in the Mayor's communiqué).

The common claims are :

- a fixed place to stay NOW.

- Papers

- Freedom to move

We, the Knowledge Liberation Front of Paris support these claims and fight with Tunisians here to obtain them by law or by force.
