Free your data, make the police accountable

Police watcher | 03.05.2011 13:04 | Repression | Terror War | South Coast

If you had any doubts whether the police have too much time on their hands and are only there to protect big business, then I urge you to hear the story of John Catt. If you have reason to believe that the cops have information on you, demand it back!

You don't get your data back

Only ask for the information if you think the pigs already know all the information they will demand in order to release the information. No point helping the pigs gather more information on you.

You don't get your data back, the police just give you a copy.

I got mine back

Last year in fact 24 pages of it although of course they cannot give you any info about other activists and they do obviously record who is talking to who etcetc and they exclude any REALLY juicy bits, whether or not you are under surveillance etc. I think that it is something that should be carefully considered by each person and if you are off the radar STEER CLEAR. However many activists have been repeatedly arrested and catalogued so have nothing to lose if they do decide to apply for the file. Then you can have fun reporting it all to the Information Commissioner for all the inaccuracies.

Perhaps I was not clear enough.

You don't get your data back, in which case the pigs would no longer have it. You get a copy of your data back, the pigs still have it too.
