closure of shop

the fact cinemas much loved bookshop is no more, a quirky little nook in the building a small haven for the culture vultures and cinema lover with wide collection of obscure and hard to obtain prints of film and books, sadly it is feeling the crunch today as the budget comes into force in the arts centes of the country.
with a massive 91 million of cuts in vital public services affected here in liverpool the impact has meant an atom bomb has been dropped on public and social services with arts groups and alternative venues like FACT cinema beneath the radar their disappearance usually goes by the board.

the bookshop was the funky little newstand in the railway statiopn a short breathing sapce you had to but the goods before a major decision to go into acinema film or gallery or coffee and lounge like the trip to another destination all of us seek a guide a long the way whether its a paper one or the people we tag along with as experts the shop wqas that cinematic addition like the old film program a much loved souvenir of fun time at escapist entertainment we call cinema the scophiliac in me as always remained a peeping tom despite the treatment.

the space will be no doubt filled with other franchises(who nows muckdonalds like the Odeon) but the dinky likkle shop of goodies will be sorely missed missed with this patron as many moons ago in the faraway tree people not profit came to use the space once to set up indymedia it had only just opened and allowed the community access suite to be of use by the plebian masses or great and not so great liverpool media collective jame connor no relation to john fought the good battle with the brass hats and we began to begat so it begun.
