Globalise Resistance Forum

Resist | 31.03.2011 21:30 | Globalisation | Social Struggles

On Tuesday 5 April we are holding the Globalise Resistance Forum. A space where activists can network and share information on a number of issues. We shall also be discussing mobilisations for both the G8 and G20 to be held in France this year.

TUESDAY 5 APRIL 7pm
Conway Hall
Red Lion Square WC1R 4RL
(nr tube Holborn)

PART ONE: Two speakers, JohnHilary (executive director of War on Want) and Amelie Canonne from the French coordination on the G8 & G20 mobilisations, will address the issue of the G8 and G20 summits and protests happening in France this year, speaking on what we can do and achieve around these events. There will be time for questions, discussion and contributions.

PART TWO: We break into workshops. these can be about what you want them to be. We have a few ideas for workshops that we want to suggest, but if you wanted a workshop on, say, May Day, Climate Change, Women’s Rights or The Middle East, you can announce one. We break into workshops, people attend the one they most fancy (if no one turns up to any workshop, it simply doesn’t happen).

FINALLY: someone from each workshop does a very short report back, announces any intention to carry forward the process, perhaps an action, another meeting (“working group”). Globalise Resistance will try to facilitate the plans you come up with.

Its better if you see it in action, come along
