Call out for contributions to new publication

Feralfight | 31.03.2011 09:42 | Social Struggles

Feral Fight is a new publication from Black Iris Press, we're currently calling out for submissions to the first issue due out in May.

We take as our mission the generalization of rebellious acts against the state, capitalism, civilization, totalitarianism, fascism, patriarchy, white supremacy, and ableism. To this end it wants to increase the debate and discussion around how we take the small ruptures that occur with these borders and make them more common place.

We fully believe that it is only when we act with the rage in our hearts and the love in our minds that we will break out of this society’s abusive hold over us, however we acknowledge our privileges, and the ways in which they enable us to act with less fear than most. We acknowledge that in order to achieve a generalised insurrection, in order to turn those small ruptures become broader deeper and more vigorous we must enable all to act with the ferocity of their desires.

Feral Fight thus wishes to create a space in which we can share in the delights of vengance against systems of domination and oppression. If you feel you have something to say in this discussion please send us your writings at  fightferal@aktivix.org by the end of April.

...can we have some decent insurrectionary writing that:

a) Is understandable by most of us without resorting to pseudo-intellectual language to score clever points.
b) Isn't condemning of most non-politically active people as enemies or part of the problem.
c) Doesn't fetishise breaking windows, drug dealing or small scale criminal damage as the perfect form of struggle.
d) Has a understanding that affinifty groups might not the only form of organisation that has validity in struggle.
e) Orientates itself to what is happening here in Britian now, not in Greece, Italy or Germany. And not at any other time in the past.
d) Aims to generalise insurrection, not keep it as some identity politics for a small gang of unstable people with anger issues.

If it can do any or all of that, great! Good luck.

That, I'm afraid, is what your (e) would produce. Certainly, it is a mistake to fetishise any period in the past or the struggle going on in any other place, but we need to learn from both, and adapt as we think best.

But...

I'm not saying ignore it at all. Just don't fetishise it and assume that just trying to recreate it here will have the same validity as it does in another place. Think some insurrectionaries have this weird radicalism/geography thing going - the futher away from England the 'cooler' it is. Fuck all point filling your pages with stories of Greek riots without talking about their relevance to here I think. Unless you just trying to score 'I'm so hardcore' points.

Insurrectionary

You tell 'em 'Insurrectionary'!

Really looking forward to your maximum heavy-weight contribution to FeralFight! Please CC: a copy to Freedom, and they could print it too maybe! Anybody for a special pamphlet also?
