undercover police and fashion victims smear peaceful demonstrators

anon | 27.03.2011 20:23 | Analysis | Public sector cuts | Repression

Yesterday a group of uncover police and fashion victims smashed up a few shops in the rich part of London. This helped the right wing media smear protesters as violent while making them feel manly and competent.

A Sky News reporter reportedly offered to paya demonstrator £25 to throw a brick. Unneccesary because many of them were already being paid by the State.

Right...

Or perhaps some threw stuff at the shops because of genuine anger that whilst our health service is cutting help to the most vulnerable in society, Philip Green is getting away with tax evasion on an astronomical scale. Thus his stores are a perfectly valid target.

Maybe there were some undercover cops there, but don't underestimate the genuine anger and hatred felt by many towards big business and the government. If I was in London yesterday I too would have hurled a few bricks through the windows of various chain stores and banks. I congratulate those that did do it, at least there are some in society who aren't paralysed by the Tory propaganda that only peaceful protest is valid.

you are the fascists

If anything it is you who are fascist. This wasn't spontanous popular anger. This was premeditated action by a gang of elitist pseudo-revolutionaries, who have taken it upon themselves to transform the entire character of protest for their own selfish ends.

But since you've decided to talk to the public instead of just suppressing our concerns:

How do you answer to the charge that, since your secretive and elitist vanguard are riddled with police, you have no right to walk into other peoples demos and start smashing things up?

How do you answer to the charge that what you are doing is elitist and undemocratic?

In many ways this is terrorism without the bombs. A stupid belief that if only one smashes enough bad things, the entire social edifice of capitalism will crumble.

Ask yourselves a question, blockheads:

How come the police never seem to try to stop you?

How come the police often leave squad cars in your path? It is almost as though they need you, as an excuse to lay into peaceful demonstrators.

As far as I'm concerned though, you're scum and I see you on a demo I will kick your asses.
