There is a lot of rhetoric swimming around the news channels from the politicians and economists, at the moment, to the backdrop of the demo's in London. 'We need to cut the debt so that it isn't passed on to our children to pick up the bill', they keep saying.

The Royal Family (3% shareholder of BoE) makes money from the UK being in debt
Successive governments ensure that there is a debt such that this circle of deceit continues
