Nuclear Disaster, the Government and the Media.

The Outcast | 18.03.2011 23:49

How are we shortsighted? How the governments and media are taking the piss while people are suffering and environment is being degraded virtually forever? An outcast reporting.

Since the tsunami hit and the problems with reactors occured I have not seen a single true scientific statement in the mainstream media on hypothetical implications as a result of the meltdown of Japanese reactors in Fukishima. Instead, continuous assurance that the situation is 'under control' and 'highly unlikely' meltdown of the fuel rods by so called 'experts'. The truth is that the mainstream statements on the matter don't come from experts.

Unmanned flying robots are applied in modern countries as a surveillance against demonstrations yet they were not deployed to recon it, why why why???. Japan is apparently the most technologically sophisticated country on the globe, yet they still cannot find out what is happening to the nuclear fuel there. Perhaps they don't want to know and more probable: THEY DONT WANT US EVER TO KNOW.

On 14 March former IAEA scientist Frigyes Reisch (probably the most reputable nuclear disasters expert) expressed his opinion on the case:

When watching James Bond movie I feel more inspired than when watching news. The wider the audience, the simpler the message. The TV is designed to degrade our understanding about the world.

Japan is the main exporter of nuclear reactors. Nuclear power is not sustainable if you think otherwise, please don't be ignorant. I encourage you to read this webpage:  http://www.stormsmith.nl/

Nuclear Option

Alex Salmond & the SNP in Scotland have been anti nuclear since they took office 4 years ago. This means Scotland is possibly 4 years ahead of most other contries in developing renewable and carbon capture energy sources. Following the tragic events in Japan this look like being the only future means of sustainable energy generation. Unfortunately due to to the media bias of many of the scottish newspapers and their constant anti SNP headlines over non-issues it looks like labour will be returning to our parliment as the governing party. This is the party that nearly bankrupted our country by refusing to pay for schools and hospitals with public cash when the going was good instead squandering billions of pounds of scotlands future money with 30 year rip off contracts with private companies.

We must highlight this media bias with protests and ensure fair elections in Scotland. In Libya Gaddaffi picks the governement and in Scotland the media tries its best to pick ours what is the difference? yet you will never see a UN resolution against the papers!

I know there are other issues here like the release of the lockerbie bomber and the deaths of civilians in Libya and yes I am biased towards the SNP however the core issue here is the papers influencing many scots who do not know the difference between their twisted storys and the truth.

Vote Against Nuclear

Every election from now on needs a 'Vote Against Nuclear' campaign. This way we can assess public opinion and the amount of work that needs to be done in the education of the masses.

just go to the IAEA and ignore the media

I kind of agree but for the exact opposite reasons.

The media has been posting absolute scaremongering bollox, about how radiation is XXX levels and just level X will kill everyone. Utter shite - scaring teh willies out of everyone.

Basically, now, I just go the the IAEA website where they just list facts - rather than "implications" and guesswork like you are asking for. Its amazing what the differences are compared to the media.

dumbaass

IAEA hmm...
