hundreds of protesters arrest county court judge - mar 7th

Protestors have "civilly arrested" a judge at Birkenhead county court.
A crowd of several hundred people has massed around the court.
Police have begun forcibly ejecting protestors from the court in chaotic scenes.
Made up of people from across the UK, the marchers say they are excerting their "ancient right to lawful Rebellion under Article 16 of Magna Carta."

Around 20 police vehicles are now in attendance and several dozen officers are at the scene, some with dogs.

The crowd, although largely peaceful, is chanting "freedom" and "arrest that judge."

Some have sat down in the road blocking in a police van and are refusing to let it pass.

The area around the county court at Hamilton Street and Market Street is now closed to vehicles by police cordon.

Radical tactics, maybe, but reactionary politics

Occupations are a great tactic, but it's worth paying attention to the politics of the people doing them. The organizers here were the far-right "British Constitution Group," who purport to be defending Britain from a New World Order of Illuminati and Zionists - see their website at  http://www.lawfulrebellion.org.uk/ . Their ideology is based on the "freeman" or "sovereign citizen" ideas which come from racist Christian Patriot groups in America. They are not on our side.

The full statement reads: "Known broadly by researchers as the New World Order (NWO) - though some refer to them as the Illuminati or Zionists (please note that this does not mean Judaism) - the modus operandi of these powerful traitors and criminals is now clear for all to see." Pleae supply further evidence that this group is racist or linked to racists.

Leading members of Liverpool BNP (namely branch organiser Mike Whitby and Peter Tierney) were involved in this action. At a time when the working class in the northwest are facing massive attacks, people need to be aware that groups like BCG are, with support from fascists, trying divert attention away from class solutions to the present crisis. Do not be fooled.
