LCE Architects (in Libya) and their relationship with Studioearchitects and ARK Academy.
Minutes from the Brent Youth Parliament meeting, 22 July 2008, relating to the ARK Academy in Brent, is distributed to LCE Architects, who build schools in Libya; document at link below. However, only one student member is named, the rest marked as ‘?’ (a)
Studioearchitects is named on this document. Others who are named as attending this meeting are Bruce Sounes, architect at Studioearchitects - involved in ‘human re-engineering’ and ‘euthenics’ (b), Robert Lanwarne, involved in setting up the maintained school agenda in the UK (c), and Nitin Parshotam, involved with the charity Shishukunj; motto ‘Baal Devo Bhava’, ‘to honour Baal as God’. (d)
Those to whom this document is distributed include those in attendance at this meeting, along with Willmott Dixon (builders), ARK (Absolute Return for Kids, school sponsor) and LCE Architects (LCE – Lomax Cassidy and Edwards), who build schools in Libya. (e)
Although Studioearchitects and LCE Architects are obviously architecture firms, the document which is passed from the Brent Youth Parliament meeting to LCE Architects has nothing whatsoever to do with architecture. It is a list of what students at this meeting have stated they would like for their new school. However, there is only one named student attendee. It is not clear, therefore, who has made the requests presented in this document.
It is certainly worth noting that LCE architects have an office in Libya and build schools there, and have been doing for some years. They have, therefore, been educating the Libyan youth, and have a relationship with Studioearchitects, involved in ‘human re-engineering’ and ‘euthenics’.
