The spoof website claiming that the British National Party is Sponsoring Crufts has today reached over 10,000 hits.

The website  http://www.bnpcrufts.co.uk/ is a almost identical copy of the Crufts website however it claims that they are sponsored by right wing nationalist party, the 'British National Party'

The BNP were chosen to sponsor crufts in the website due to their similar views and aims ( http://www.bnpcrufts.co.uk/page4.html)

Since the website went online it has angered both KC and BNP supporters.

Nick Griffin even 'tweeted' the following (and slightly racist) comment "Animal Liberation cranks who oppose the keeping of dogs as pets attacking Crufts with hoax website claiming we sponsor them! Not the Afghan hound class for sure." ( http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2011/02/473912.html)

Simon Darby (former deputy chairman of the BNP posted this ( http://simondarby.blogspot.com/2011/02/barking-up-wrong-tree.html)

The websites creator says "its obvious that what Crufts represents is wrong when possibly the most hated political party in the country wants nothing to do with them"

here are two links to forums popular with pedigree dog breeders

(my favourite comment is this)
I found the following sentence very disturbing indeed.

“Whether you call it 'pedigree' or 'master race', the quest for pure bloodlines is the same thing - the false and dangerous belief that some breeds or races are superior to others, we are asking true dog lovers to take a bite out of cruelty by boycotting breeders and adopting a lovable animal from a shelter instead.”

However other internet forums such as the dog re-homing website preloved.co.uk found the website both amusing and honest.

The websites creator says
"Although the website is a joke the serious issue is that the quest for pedigree dogs results in the continuous breeding of dogs in the name of vanity whilst thousands of perfectly healthy dogs are filling shelters around the country"
