Shir Hever is an economic researcher in the Alternative Information Center, a Palestinian-Israeli organization active in Jerusalem and Beit-Sahour. Shir Hever specialises in researching the economic aspect of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. He is author of recent book 'The Political Economy of Israel's Occupation'.

The Scottish Palestine Solidarity arranged a speaking tour for Shir Hever of 14 cities in the UK. The first stop was at Kings College London on 17 February 2011, organised by Kings College Action Palestine, Palestine Solidarity Campaign and BRICUP.
