Marley was influenced by Marcus Garvey and by the Rastafari movement. He was an African nationalist and a black separatist who strongly believed in the repatriation of Africans back to Africa and in the political union of all Africa. "Africa for the Africans!" So he wasnt really anti-nationalist was he? His Pan-Africanism reminds me the slogan "Europe a nation" used by Oswald Mosley and the post-war far right. Also he was devout to the Ethiopian monarchy, especially in the person of Emperor Haile Selassie I. Africa would unite under the Ethiopian monarch who would rule by divine right.
