Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of Lewisham, has been told to find £34m of cuts in the next year (up from £18m since he last discussed it!). In the May elections he pledged to protect core services.

The meeting has been moved to a time which will prevent most workers and many others affected by the cuts from attending the meeting. This is a further erosion of democracy. We will not allow them to avoid public anger so join us for breakfast outside the town hall and let the council know that they may move their meetings but we won’t go away!
