Hundreds of demonstrators came to Manara Square in the centre of Ramallah to show their solidarity with the Tunisian and Egyptian revolutions.

The Palestinian Authority allowed the demonstration to go ahead, with a limited (uniformed) police presence. The demonstrators chants were directed against Mubarak as well as the increasingly unpopular Palestinian Authority.

The Egyptian chant that "the people want the regime to fall" was echoed throughout the afternoon until a small group of pro-Abbas demonstrators appeared and a short confrontation ensued.

However, despite the ending it was significant that it went ahead, the number of demonstrators was larger than expected and the people were openly displaying their anger at the PA.

Here are a few pictures, feel free to use.
